Field Safety Manager – 2005-2007

Managed and supervised truck/equipment inspection and landfill safety in Mobile, LA & New Orleans disposal sites in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina for over 19 months. Coordinated disposal and trucking operations with the USACE.

Project Safety Manager & Traffic Control Manager for the U.S. 17 Ace Basin Highway project in Beaufort County SC – June 2007 - February 2011

The U.S. 17 project has received the highest SCDOT QMT safety/traffic control safety score currently given in the State. The project has received a perfect 3.0 three times out of four in the safety category. It is documented by a commendation letter from Beaufort County EM that the highway accident rate inside the P&J construction zone has dropped by 90% during the project due to our efforts with safety/traffic control.

Senior Area Safety Manager for the Alabama Spring Tornado Recovery Project (USACE), Tuscaloosa, AL – February – August 2011

Coordinated field activities of 12 Field Safety Personnel during tornado clean-up operations in Tuscaloosa, AL. I served on the USACE Safety Committee from 2011 into 2013. Individually awarded the highest safety award by USACE safety on the Alabama clean up. The overall project was recognized by USACE for accumulating over 1.5 million man hours without a lost time accident.

August 2011 – July 2014

Conduct health and safety site inspections and perform safety supervision at landfills, pipeline clearing, gas pad construction, excavation sites, waster way projects and safety inspections of trucks & heavy equipment. Recent safety work (Project Safety Manager) on the February 2012 Kentucky Tornado clean-up project in West Liberty KY. August 2012 SSHO for the USACE C-44 Intake Canal Phase 1 Project, Indiantown, FL (Jacksonville Division). Part of my duties as the project SSHO was to conduct monthly training on the EM-385; we reviewed and discussed sections of the EM-385 with all project supervisors. At the time of my departure from the C-44 project, we had conducted a quarter million man hours with 690+ days of no lost time accidents.

Spent one year in Williston, ND, working in the Oil & Gas industry for P&J. Trainer for all our crews, development of the current safety program for the 35 division. Been involved in the Oil & Gas safety industry for 2 ½ + total years with P&J. Helped write safe work procedures manual for the facility/roustabout work for Oil & Gas for the 35 division, first of its kind. Also wrote the first training power point for the facility/roustabout work as well.

Cut lines and performed general survey work part-time for 5 to 6 years. Crew medic.
